2020 Matching Gifts Campaign

Our Response to the COVID-19 Emergency

We value all of our nonprofit partners. But early on in 2020’s COVID-19 crisis, we became especially concerned about smaller organizations that do not have large donor bases or government funding, yet still serve the urgent needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. So we decided to do something about it.

Through the Cuyahoga Land Bank Charities website, we solicited donations to eight partner organizations that we learned were in urgent need of support. Donors were able to select the charities they wanted to contribute to and we matched their gifts dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,000 per gift.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to raise a total of $139,951 for our partners. We gave them their funds after the campaign’s conclusion on July 31, 2020.

Many thanks to all who donated!

How Working With Nonprofit Organizations Helps Us Make an Impact

We work hand-in-hand with local nonprofit organizations — our partners — to help adults aging out of foster care, single moms transitioning from homelessness, women escaping domestic violence or trafficking, disabled veterans, and others. Over the past decade, we have donated over 100 homes to these vulnerable individuals.

Several of the groups we work with are faith-based and minister in extraordinary ways regardless of race, creed, geography, or gender through individual volunteerism and their places of worship.
