We value all of our nonprofit partners. But early on in 2020’s COVID-19 crisis, we became especially concerned about smaller organizations that do not have large donor bases or government funding, yet still serve the urgent needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. So we decided to do something about it.
Through the Cuyahoga Land Bank Charities website, we solicited donations to eight partner organizations that we learned were in urgent need of support. Donors were able to select the charities they wanted to contribute to and we matched their gifts dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,000 per gift.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to raise a total of $139,951 for our partners. We gave them their funds after the campaign’s conclusion on July 31, 2020.
